We all want to live a little greener, but many of us believe it is too time-consuming and expensive. The following ten tips will give you a little more know-how on ways you can make your life a more Earth-Friendly without much effort and by SAVING money as opposed to spending it.

1. Start Recycling – Call your local recycling plant to find out exactly what they will accept and not accept. Then, dedicate bins to different kids of materials – blue for glass, red for aluminum, green for paper. Have your kids spread the word to family and friends! Most recycling places will pay you for your “trash” so your kids can make a bit of money!

2. Get Rid of Paper – Lose the paper filing system. Use electronic storage instead of paper files to save paper and space.

3. Use Natural Light – Open the blinds in your home instead of turning on lamps to reduce energy consumption. Guess what, it also cuts down on your electricity bill!

4. Pick Up Litter – Spend an afternoon picking up litter in your community, park or at your local beach. This helps the eco-system and teaches our kids not to litter.

5. Buy In Bulk – Purchase items in bulk when possible to reduce packaging waste. Also, you will find that bulk items are cheaper per net oz. than regular sized items.

6. Start a Compost Pile – Recycle organic waste by creating a compost pile. It will not only reduce landfill waste, but it also creates nutrient-rich soil for your garden!

7. Hit The Lights – Remember to turn lights off when you leave a room to conserve energy. In fact, switch all your bulbs to less wattage. You won’t notice the difference, but your electricity bill will!

If you are trying to help your business to go green, one of the best ways to be eco-friendly is to adopt green printing practices and tactics. Often, printed materials are used extensively by companies for meetings, client education, and just day-to-day business activities. By going greener in this department, you can help the environment. Here are some of the best tips for green printing practices.

1. Consider Your Design Elements

One of the first things that you can do to go greener in your printing tactics is to watch your design elements. Avoid bleeding and large ink areas if you can. If this is not possible, then reduce the size of the project to reduce the amount of waste created during the printing process. This will also allow your projects to be printed faster and for reduced cost.

2. Use Recycled Paper

Another strategy you can implement in going green in your printing practices is to use paper that contains at least 30% post-consumer waste. There are also paper sources that are 100% recycled, though they may not be available for all project sizes and types.

3. Opt for Soy and Vegetable Based Inks

Not only do soy and vegetable based inks come from a renewable resource, unlike petroleum based inks, they are also better for the environment. They do not contain the toxins and carcinogens that petroleum inks do. In addition, they break down faster and are easier to remove during the recycling process.

4. Utilize Bio-degradable Coatings

For projects that require a coating on the finished product, such as book covers and brochures, look for bio-degradable coatings. These are gentler on the environment and easier to recycle.

5. Minimize the Page Count

Reducing your page count will not only create more cost-effective printings for you, but it is also greener since there is less waste produced. There are numerous ways that you can reduce your page count – use smaller margins, smaller font sizes, and print on both sides of the page to maximize the use of your materials.

6. Seek Recycled Binding Elements

If your finished product needs a binding, look for recycled plastic coil. These usually come in dark neutral colors and can contain as much as 80% post-consumer waste plastic, making it a green alternative to other binding options.

7. Count the Numbers

When trying to incorporate greener printing, it is helpful to print only the exact number of copies that you need. For large client presentations, try to wait until you have a better understanding of your registration numbers before printing up handouts. If you can, wait to print materials onsite when you know exactly how many copies you will need, and print employee handouts and forms on an as-needed basis. This will help to eliminate waste and reduce your cost.

8. Ensure Your Marketing is Effective

Green printing also involves ensuring your products and materials are not wasted. Clean up your mailing lists regularly so that only the customers that need the printouts are receiving them. Talk to exhibitors and suppliers about what marketing materials they really need and only print those. You can also offer literature on CDs, which are especially appreciated at trade shows.

9. Go Paperless

The easiest way to go green with your printing is to go paperless as much as possible. Send proofs via email instead of printing paper copies. Company announcements and memos can be delivered via a website or email as well.

10. Recycle Inside and Out

As with everything else, you can go greener by recycling. Start with your own office and set out recycling bins near the trash cans and copy machines. Set out piles of “scratch” paper that can be reused. Inform your clients and other recipients that your materials can be recycled, and when appropriate, provide containers to make this process easier.

It seems like everywhere you turn today you hear the word GREEN… green buildings, green fabrics, green restaurants, green cleaning products, green this, green that. Green choices, green decisions… Good grief!! It’s like the world is trying to be earth-friendly in a hurry to make up for the lack of care we’ve given to the planet over the last 50 or so years.

Hopefully, by making earth-healthy green choices in the “11th hour” we can undo some of the damage we’ve caused in terms of pollution and global warming.

Meanwhile, this same sort of “hurry up and fix it” thinking can apply to health care. Over the years, it’s easy to do environmental damage to our bodies, contaminating it with pollutants, poor food choices and lack of exercise. Then in the “11th hour,” when we’re feeling unhealthy, or perhaps have become ill, we try to make up for it in a hurry, basically becoming green in our self-care.

We start watching what we eat; we start taking vitamins, maybe even join a health club. All the while, hoping that all the years of unhealthy choices can be repaired. The bad news is, it just doesn’t work that way-with the planet or our health.

But there is some really good news and that good news is green! Its wheatgrass power and you can’t get any greener than wheatgrass! The juice from wheatgrass is truly a gift of nature, it’s actually the blood of nature, and it’s a perfect fit for dynamite health. Since ancient times, the wheat berry has been considered the most valuable of foods. Likewise, the chlorophyll from the growing wheatgrass has proven itself to be the most powerful blood cleanser on earth.

Wheatgrass Composition
The solid content of juice made from wheatgrass is 70% chlorophyll, the sunshine element from the plant that rejuvenates the human body. Chlorophyll is often called “the blood of plant life” because it closely resembles the molecular structure of human red blood cells. Chlorophyll is one of nature’s greatest healers for conditions both inside and outside of the body, and it is considered a survival food because it feeds us dynamic nutrients, yet the body gives up very little energy to assimilate it.

Chlorophyll is the basis of all plant life; it is truly liquid sunshine. Chlorophyll absorbs energy from the sun and in some mysterious way it uses it to create sugar, starch and proteins. Science has proven not only that chlorophyll will stop the growth and development of unfriendly bacteria, but it is actually akin to human blood. Studies show that chlorophyll has the same chemical structure as hemoglobin, the red cells in human blood.

Both chlorophyll (wheatgrass juice) and hemoglobin consist in part of similar atoms. The only difference between them is that in human blood the metallic atom consists of iron; while in chlorophyll, this atom is magnesium.

When you think about all the many remarkable benefits of wheatgrass, it’s crazy not to be taking advantage of it for great heath–for green health.

There are several ways to go about taking wheatgrass. You can buy a wheatgrass juicing machine, and juice your own. Wheatgrass is fun to grow, or you can buy it freshly grown from a health food store. Of course, the taste is usually a bit off-putting, because it tastes pretty much like a freshly mown field of grass, in a glass!

Belly Up To The Bar
Some health food stores sell “shots” of wheatgrass juice. You can get about one ounce of wheatgrass juice for about $3 to $10. You can also buy wheatgrass juice pre-bottled, however, the taste of that mown field is still there. The easiest way to consume wheatgrass juice, and the most economical, is in supplement form. Depending on the supplement, it is the equivalent to consuming a giant green leafy salad! Studies show that 15 pounds of fresh wheatgrass is equivalent in nutritional value to 350 pounds of the choicest vegetables.

Balance Your Body pH
You can easily pump up your pH level with wheatgrass. pH stands for “potential of Hydrogen,” and is the ratio measurement for acidity and alkalinity. The perfect pH level for humans is 6.8 to 7.2, and by maintaining this level, the trillions of cells in your body are free to absorb and use vitamins and other nutrients, and to excrete the waste.

When your diet includes higher amounts of fat, sugar and animal protein, your body becomes more acidic and the cellular waste will ferment, rot, and not exit your body. When this waste doesn’t get eliminated, it causes pain in your tissues, muscles, joints and major organs, setting the stage for illness and disease. The best way to reduce this acidity is with alkalizing foods such as wheatgrass.

According to Nobel Prize winner Otto Warburg, cancer cells cannot grow in an oxygen-rich environment with a balanced pH. There’s no super food on earth that promises so much health for so very little.

The Other Grasses
There are also some fantastic combination formulas available that bring together the alkalizing benefits of wheatgrass, lemon grass and barley grass into one energizing, immunity-enhancing green formula. Wheatgrass has been called the nectar of rejuvenation, and it’s easy to see why.

Wheatgrass is rich in enzymes, vitamins, hormones and nucleic acids. It has widespread effectiveness, but its three most important health roles are: blood purification, liver detoxification and colon cleansing. These three components are the foundation of super great health.

Barley grass and wheatgrass are both abundant sources of superoxide dismutase (SOD). This is a powerful antioxidant and anti-aging enzyme. SOD is a proven anti-inflammatory for arthritis, edema, gout, and bursitis. Lemon Grass is another fantastic cleanser that helps detoxify the liver, pancreas, kidney, bladder and digestive tract. It helps cut down uric acid, cholesterol, excess fats and other acid wastes while stimulating digestion and blood circulation. If you want to cleanse your colon and liver,

Taking this superfood combination may help turn around poor health in no time, making up for the many years of polluting the environment of our health. It’s like putting lots of “green” into the bank account of your health.

In this environmental friendly world, everyone should contribute their participation to make it much more eco friendly. There are multiple ways through which individuals can ensure that there are doing something in making this earth greener, saving world from getting polluted and preventing it from other calamities that can occur in the future.

One such method, which everyone can inculcate, is printing. Green printing assists highly in lowering down the pollution level of the world. Equipped with set of practices, nowadays many big organizations and firms have started making use of green printing techniques. The environmental friendly printing techniques reveal the ways that how organizations can get their documents printed at relatively much cheaper cost and in eco friendly way. Green printing practices have also encouraged the usage of safe organic colors rather than harmful and dangerous dyes.

Another environmental friendly printing technique involves saving of paper and recycling of it. Offset printing Sydney has been a well known and reckoned name for adopting environmental friendly printing techniques. Several offset printing Sydney companies have been engulfed into saving and collecting old papers, and afterwards recycling them to produce recycled papers. Though, the quality of the recycled papers is of poor quality, but they can be used and applied in the areas where there is no as such point of presentation.

Save trees and thus forests by making use of printing techniques. The recycled paper can be used as memo sheets or post notes, preventing the more usage of normal papers. Along with this, practices also hates any use of acidic chemicals or harmful spirits in the printing procedure. The main concern of green printing practices is based on the fact that such substances when washed up can clog up the soil and cause more troubles.

These days, lots of companies have been turning in adopting practices of environmentally friendly printing. In fact, after seeing big corporation’s contribution in saving the world, now even smaller firms are also eagerly and actively participating in saving earth. Adhered with internationals standards, offset printing Sydney techniques have carved a niche in the market and lends enormous contribution in saving this world.

Why is it important to be eco-friendly? Every year billions of items that cannot disintegrate are thrown away each year, these items just sit there forever. Sure there is way to decrease their size, but we’ve already been doing this for hundreds of years. Thousands of animals are also harmed each year from our lack of concern of their homes.

There is a ton of simple ways make your home or business more environmentally friendly without having to spend a lot more money. One minor change that can make a huge difference overall lies in the doormat. Many doormats are made out of synthetic materials that cannot be recycled, and brand new rubber which does not disintegrate. Why not replace your synthetic mat back with rubber with a mat that’s made from coconut fibres and has a rubber backing made from recycled rubber. They last for years, the coconut fibres decompose, and the rubber backing can be re-recycled and used for a variety of other products.

For business owners that are looking to maintain an upscale appearance, there is still an elegant eco-friendly matting option for you. These are the waterkeeper mats also known as waterhog mats, these mats are high quality and have a very professional esthetic. They use little nubs to trap dirt and water and they are made from 100% post-consumer recycled P.E.T. polyester fiber system, made from recycled plastic bottles. The rubber backing is made of almost 20% recycled car tires. The waterhog mats also come in a wide variety of colors, cuts, and patterns.

There is also eco-friendly indoor matting options, such as the rolls of coir matting, this matting makes for really nice stair runners, but can be cut up and used anywhere within your house. Most carpet is made from synthetic fibers that cannot decompose, so using as much coir in your house as you can is a great alternative for taking a step towards becoming greener.

Taking one small step towards becoming greener and just changing your doormat to one that is environmentally friendly can make a huge difference, could you imagine if from here on out everyone only bough eco-friendly doormats? That would make a massive different overall. So next time your find yourself needing a new mat pick up one that’ll be good for the environment, and if your old doormat is rubber backed, recycle it! It’s a team effort to make the earth green, let’s work together.

While home building may be a little slow in these economic times, if you are among the fortunate ones who is ready and able to construct your ideal home, first congratulations. Second, are you looking to build a home that is not only comfortable and functional, but is friendly towards the environment?

Even you do not give two licks about the environment, and when that’s true that’s too bad, creating a green home is not only great for the Earth, however it can leave more green inside your banking account.

Smaller Can Be Better

Build your floor plan efficient, which is code for smaller. Nobody says you should turn your dream home into a studio apartment plan, but just keep in mind that the more rooms you’ve, the more cooling and heating you will need to do. Plus, the cash it will save you on building that den or fifth bedroom can be used towards another features, some of which we will enter into in the following paragraphs.

Go Solar!

The very first extra you might want to consider, even when your budget is flexible enough without cutting out space on the floor, is solar paneling. Not only can you’re employed the cost into your mortgage, however it will pay for itself in some short years through cost savings on your regular bills.

Geothermal Heat Pumps

There are several cost-effective methods to opt for heating your home and water, but you may want to consider going with a geothermal heat pump. This relatively recent technology uses the thermal energy from the Earth to heat or cool your home and water. It can be used for space heating, cooling, water heating, or a combination of many of these.

When using the Earth’s warmth to supply heat, geothermal pumps also draw heat away, known as “heat sink,” when you need cooler temperatures.

Based on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, “geothermal heat pumps can help to eliminate energy consumption – and corresponding emissions Up to 44 percent when compared with air-source heat pumps and up to 72 percent when compared with electric resistance heating with standard air-conditioning equipment.”

While the upfront cost is significantly higher than conventional systems, because of the drilling that is involved, if you’re building a new home and the geothermal system is included in a power Efficient Mortgage (EEM), “the homeowner might have a positive income right from the start,” based on the California Energy Commission.

Use Recycled Materials

While many recycled material used for homes really are a little around the quirky side, they aren’t all for the eccentric. You could have concrete countertops produced from recycled paper fibers, glass, ceramics, or any other materials. Recycled rubber and cork may be used in a composite material for flooring. The possibilities are almost endless!

We all know that going green may be the cool thing to do nowadays. Find out some easy tips about how everyday citizens, property construction sites, and even businesses can help improve our environment by looking into making it a safer spot to live.

* Many cities will offer residents incentives to make use of less energy. Look for and work at rebates that your current city may be offering for example $25 off this month’s bill if you use less energy compared to previous month. You won’t just have the ability to take advantage of the rebate, but you will also be helping your city be more eco-conscious.

* Make use of the recycling program your city has organized. Recycling as a whole costs less to operate than waste collection, landfilling, and incineration and drastically reduces emissions, saves energy and reduces pollution. Did you know that every lot of paper that is recycled saves 17 trees which the energy we save whenever we recycle one glass bottle is enough to light an easy bulb for 4 hours

* Compost. Larger cities will usually provide a compost service which comes on the same day as your garbage and recycling. Composting is a superb method to reduce the quantity of garbage you have produced which in turn reduces the quantity of garbage that goes to landfills and cuts back around the manufacture of methane and leachate formulation in the landfills. Cities may then use compost to prevent pollutants in stormwater runoff from reaching surface water resources, prevent erosion and silting on embankments parallel to creeks, lakes, and rivers, as well as prevents erosion and turf loss on roadsides, hillsides, playing fields, and golf courses.

* Use sediment control measures around your home and work place. Natural erosion stormwater runoff from your home and worksite can negatively affect water quality, wetlands, wildlife and natural vegetation around your city. If you see that carrying out a storm excessive debris and runoff is leaving your property, it is important that you install proper devices to keep this excess debris from entering the drainage and water system. When sediment gets into water system, it takes longer and becomes more expensive to purify that water for drinking. It also can get washed in to the lakes and oceans causing excess flooding when in high precipitation.

* Help beautify your city by obtaining trash wherever you might be. Whether it’s around your home or while on a stroll, avoid littering and then try to get trash is one of the most effective to help greenify and beautify your city!

One of the hottest trends at the moment with Coconut Grove property is green. Everyone seems to want an environmentally friendly home, there are some builders and contractors in the Coconut Grove area that are willing and ready to make that dream become a reality for you personally. With solar panels and recycled materials, these homes are aimed toward those that have a real love for the planet and a weakness for luxury. If you’re able to set aside your hankering for rare woods and granite countertops, then you can definitely learn how to appreciate the types of materials that are utilized in these new green homes.

If you are wishing and dreaming about a green home in Coconut Grove, but the economy has you worried, then it’s time for you to consult with a real estate agent about how exactly a buyer’s market may benefit you. At the moment, the Miami area has almost a year’s price of inventory, which sets the town and surrounding area firmly within the buyer’s market bracket. What this may mean for you is lower prices plus some serious wiggle room while negotiating. There isn’t any promise that you’ll get the super deal that you are dreaming of, but you really often see a break within the prices and exercise an agreement for terms that may previously have been impossible. The only method to know is to find a Coconut Grove real estate agent and start the process as quickly as possible.

The region has already garnered a great deal of attention, as LeBron James of the Miami Heat now calls the neighborhood his home. You can be positive that the elevated profile will begin to put the homes of Coconut Grove on the map, which means that the area could be more desirable compared to those surrounding it. What this signifies for buyers is that the house values will certainly start making their long ago up, and you will benefit again when your home purchase becomes a good investment.

By all means, take some time to look at the eco-friendly homes that are available in the region. Keep in mind that you can also alter the home that you buy so that it is more effective and safer for that planet. Let’s hope that this current environmental trend turns into a lifelong commitment for individuals, similar to the purchase of a new Coconut Grove home might be.

Without carrying out a full building heat loss analysis, and calculating its related energy consumption profile and the warm water requirements of the buildings occupants. You cannot accurately design a ground source electric system.

The major problem with many renewable energy installations is, that compared to normal energy systems for example gas/oil or electric, the installed pricing is generally much higher, thus meaning the economies of scale tend to be more limited. An oversized Electric will spend most of it is time running under part load conditions, which can create a shortening from the equipments lifespan and ultimately affect performance.

Under-sizing can lead to a system that needs another heating system for use, instead of the GSHP during periods of cold weather. This is known as an alternate bivalent system and is not extremely powerful. A top up system could be required to assist the system meet its requirements. As it is in fact fairly normal to possess what is known a parallel bivalent system, where two systems work together during periods of peak loads, heat pump works at maximum output supplying the base load from the heating, whilst another system tops up the temperature levels. It is very important to know the buildings and it is occupant’s energy requirements so the most energy efficient and for that reason cost effective product is designed, as generally the use of non renewable supplementary heating shouldn’t exceed 5% of the annual energy requirement.

It is not only the sizing from the heat pump that needs to be considered when designing the system. Different ground conditions will have an affect around the performance of the ground coil or borehole system used to collect heat from the ground. It is widely thought that ground source electric systems place their heat from geothermal heat however, this only happens in several regions of the united kingdom.

The ground collects solar power and many of the ground heating effect originates from the sun, even as much as hundreds of meters below ground level. The type of ground ie, sand/gravel, rock, clay have different amounts of heat extraction. Even the moisture quantity of a ground will have an effect on the performance and therefore the design of the system.

With no ground condition survey being completed one could not really say whether a coil product is appropriate. If the ground conditions are so that there’s let us say, 1m of topsoil over rock then the price of cellular phone will vastly increase.

The number of buildings is increasing within the city and this in turn is helping the pollutants within the surroundings. You might be well aware about the facts that the health problems are getting worsen daily because of the increase in the pollutants. Also saving money nature of the surroundings are greatly getting changed and because of these factors the majority of the living things are badly effected thereby unable to keep up with the ecosystem.Authorities take relevant steps in order to keep the ecosystem thereby performing relevant checks while moving ahead with the facet of commercialization and modernization.

A set of rules by the name of protocol is drawn by an organization by the name of NABERS and each building irrespective of commercial or residential in the society needs to undergo the NABERS testing in order to access the performance from the building in preserving many resources that are getting depleted using the passage of your time in the environment. It is not possible to maneuver ahead without these resources to be able to lead an appropriate life and water and electricity is among the major ones within the list.

You will have to fix up a scheduled appointment with the NABERs assessor to be able to know of the level of upkeep of the building in order to save the resources. It is always easier to do all the required repair works prior to the assessments which act can definitely help you to gain better grades. The certificate obtained after the assessment from the NABERS is very important which required while trying to rent or lease your building.

This test can be carried out either by the tenant or by the home owner and you also can divide the servings of exactly the same building into two if two families are surviving in the same building and also the assessment can be executed separately to get two separate certifications. You need not need to consider this as waste of money as this process is going to be made compulsory within short time interval using the passage of time. Also the assessor will be able to give out certain suggestions that can be carried out to create the whole house expenses in the form of number of bills economical using the passage of time.
